Zarhym on Just discovered: cold weather flying at 68! (Source)Wow! Can I has my 2K gold back that I payed for 2 of my alts already? >_< This change is coming way too fast. How are people even going to appreciate it anymore if all is given away?
Just to confirm, Tome of Cold Weather Flight is actually a new heirloom item planned to go into patch 3.2. At level 80 players can buy this heirloom item from the Cold Weather Flying Trainer in Dalaran for 1,000 gold and send it to an alt of the same realm, faction and account. The tome can be used to learn Cold Weather Flying at level 68, consuming the tome in the process.
Please note this feature is not yet in the newest version of the public test realm patch notes updated today. The item and its functionality are subject to change during the testing process.
Sorry at work, will post a more extended post later today hopefully.
Sounds to me that, your 2k is not wasted...

So uhm, you can flap around at 68 in uhm...well Outland? Does this also mean you can start flapping in Outland at 68? Dang, I should read better, my excuse is....uhm, work, yeah!
ReplyDeleteBut wow, this still opens more questions and debate then it solves I would say.
You's already gonna be flappin' around Outland at 60, come 3.2. Though epic flying is still gonna make ya wait til 70.

ReplyDeleteHmm...saying that I do wonder what options that whole heirloom + used in process could also be heirloom + used in process for gear.
ReplyDeleteI imagine myself raiding on my main and gearing up my alts...death to enchanting?
I'm more than confused by the addition of this item. Why would you buy something to send to an alt when you could just send him the 1000g to get the cold weather flying when he can at 77? Are they implying that you will be able to fly in Northrend as soon as you arrive off the zepplin? If so, is that going to be the only way to? As in, if you have to purchase cold weather flying, will you still have to wait until 77? Hmmm, guess I should hold off until 3.2 gets closer with more finalized details.

OMG! I just wanted to moderate a message, and I clicked incorrectly >_< wth is wrong with my brain today, gah, think I left it next to my bedside together with my false teeth or something! (just kidding, I don't have false teeth, only a couple) (ack, kidding again, I really should stick an about up one day).
ReplyDeleteAnyway, sorry B-Rab, I have the post in my email inbox, but it looked as if it was posted twide, and then all of a sudden both were gone and no comment was left x_X.
